Mosaics and sculptures – stone and driftwood
- Tomaž Hartman, 1957, forester
- interests: nature, travel, books, photography, mosaics, lying on the couch…
- mosaics: since 2006, does not know why (middle age crisis?), a forever self-taught beginner
- process:
- finding ideas (works of great masters, photography, books, museums, nature, old stories, web …)
- sketching in a notepad (even at night) and a computer
- searching for mosaic pieces (an excuse for a winter trip to the sea)
- experimental assembling and rearrangement
- assembling (sometimes it goes fast, sometimes it takes days and days, sometimes the mosaic does not assemble)
- photo for the documentation and the book
- search for a free wall for a mosaic exhibition
Somewhere in between - moments of joy.
- technique:
- indirect - inserting into a thin concrete board
- direct - gluing onto a wooden board
- materials: pebbles from everywhere, sea driftwood, shards, shells, glass, rusty iron…
- frames: old driftwood
- exhibitions: Kočevje 2012 & 2018, Zagreb 2016, Ljubljana 2016, Podsreda 2018, Grosuplje 2018
